Results of recent studies say, left-handed people have a greater fear than normal people. In the trial, a group of participants were asked to watch video clips of Silence of the Lamb movie lasted eight minutes. Afterwards, participants were asked to remember scenes that exist in the video.
Apparently, left-handed participants could only recall some of the scenes of the film. In addition, left-handed people’s minds filled with repetition, the symptoms of suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
“Symptoms of PTSD doubled in left-handed people than normal people,” said study leader Dr. Carolyn Choudhary from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh.
Chouddhary sure, these findings could provide new viewpoint about how humans can suffer from symptoms of PTSD. In addition, through this study too, the researchers can figure out how the brain works when responding to fear.
“There are two sides of the brain that play a role which respond to PTSD. The right brain known to respond to fear. On the left-handed person’s brain, right brain is dominant, “said Choudhary.
The results of this study will be presented at the annual conference of the British Psychology Society.
