Watching favorite football team’s defeat can be more stressful than thinking about work or marriage. Not only psychologically, the impact of stress can even be seen in the increase in blood pressure. A football game proved able to stimulate heart rate and blood pressure up to 30%. This research was led by Jens Duluvey and performed at the National Institute For The Study Of Stress (NIFTSOS). At least 2000 football fans involved in that research. “Compared with other activities, watching football can give greater short-term impact to the stress level,” said Duluvey.
