Thousands of U.S. soldiers got stressed after war in Iraq or Afghanistan. To cure stress, experts from the University of Southern California have a potent recipe…playing video games. Doctors from that university treat the soldiers who stress by letting them play XBox. Games which played are particular, for example, a virtual war in Iraq or Afghanistan. Both games are derived from Spectrum Warrior game, which is funded by the U.S. Army. “Pictures of these games are taken from live video which used by the soldiers while in war. This will repeat their traumatic experiences while in war,” said the researcher, Albert Rizzo.
Initially, this approach was considered strange. Because, how can cure stress and trauma of soldiers by bringing them back into battle in Iraq or Afghanistan? But according to experts, the video game was able to reduce the level of soldiers anxiety. from high to moderate.
When the soldiers had no acute anxiety or fear, then they will be easier to talk about the stress and trauma to the doctor. The soldiers who were treated with ‘playing games’ method claimed to be haunted by nightmares, unstable emotional and avoid places which remind them back on the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
