Number of mobile phones continues to increase. In 2008, the number of phones in use around the world to reach four billion. This amount is almost equivalent to 60 percent of the population of the earth. Besides offering attractive features, such as blackberry phones also cause problems. According to health experts, this smart phone not only interfere with physical health but also mental healt disorders.

Here are 4 Mental Health Disorders due to Blackberry:

Subordination

According to a study from Rutgers University, blackberry very trigger dependency that makes users require equal treatment with therapeutic drug dependence. With the ability to stay connected for 24 hours a day seven days a week, blackberry and similar devices trigger dependence internet and e-mail. This, according to researchers, have adverse effects on mental health.

What makes the dependency? E-mail or messages that are instantly accessible via blackberry, bright researchers, makes you can not stay long to leave the blackberry. You are unconsciously always open blackberry, hoping to find a fun message or e-mail

Sleep disturbance

It’s no secret that quality sleep deprivation has adverse effects on mental health. In fact, getting good sleep is not as easy as you might think. And the ability to close the eyes more complicated with the presence of blackberry.

Series of experiments showed that send messages or chat via phone before bed time can disrupt sleep patterns, trigger insomnia, headaches and difficulty concentrating . Even more worrying again, the results of earlier studies from Uppsala University in Sweden shows that very little radiation from mobile phones can interfere with sleep.

Trigger anxiety

It is undeniable that the blackberry is a revolutionary device. This little gadget can meet all your communication needs. But if the same device also cause dependency, damaging concentration and interfere with sleep, of course blackberries will also make you stressful. The level of stress is more severe if you are very dependent on the blackberry in doing every day tasks.

Brain damage

Mobile phone radiation have long been associated with various health problems, ranging from tumors to insomnia. Although the study findings are contradictory, evidence began to show an increased risk of brain tumors among cell phone users.

Scientists from University College London (UCL) found that passive smokers are exposed to smoke as much as 50 percent more likely affected by psychological distress, than those not exposed to smoke.

As a result, residents of a mental hospital for passive smokers, increased almost threefold during the last six years. As for smokers who were treated in a mental hospital increased nearly four-fold.

Doctor Hamer and colleagues from UCL examined 5560 adults who do not smoke, and 2595 adult smokers, who do not have a history of mental illness. The study answered questions about psychological distress and those who were treated in a mental hospital that has been tracked for six years.[source:hidayatullah.com]

Depression is a mood disease. The disease is more than just sadness or grief. Depression is sadness or grief is more intense and lasted too long.

People with depression are very miserable. According to a leading scientist of Rice, P. L. (1992), provides a definition of depression is a mood disorder, prolonged emotional condition that characterizes all of the mental processes (thinking, feeling and behaving) someone. In general, the dominant mood emerges is a feeling of helplessness and loss of hope. Depression is marked by feelings of sadness that psychopathological, lose interest and excitement, energy loss that leads to the increasing state of fatigue is very real after working just a little, and reduced activity.

Depression is a mental disorder that often occurs in the middle of society, starting from the stress that is not treated, then someone could fall into the depressed phase. The disease is often overlooked because it was considered could go away without treatment. In fact, depression is not treated properly may lead to suicide. Globally, fifty percent of people with depression think about suicide, but that eventually ended his life there was fifteen percent. In addition, severe depression also led to the emergence of various physical illnesses, such as digestive disorders (gastritis), asthma, blood vessel (cardiovascular), and decreased productivity.

Depression symptoms :

Affected individuals showed symptoms of depression in general, psychological, social & physical symptoms characteristic, such as the moody, prolonged sadness, sensitive, easily angered and offended, loss of confidence, loss of concentration and decreased endurance. But keep in mind, every person has a fundamental difference, which allows an event or behavior is different and raises faced a different reaction from one person to another. By Frank J. Bruno in the book Overcoming Depression (1997) mentions that there are some signs and symptoms of depression, namely:

In general, do not ever feel happy in this life. Existing challenges, project, hobby, or recreation do not give pleasure.

Distortion in eating behavior. People who experience moderate levels of depression tend to eat excessively, but the conditions have been different if someone tends to be severe loss of desire to eat.

Sleep disturbance. Depending on each person and a variety of factors, some depressed people have difficulty sleeping. But in other hand, many people experience depression just too much sleep.

Disruption in people’s normal activities. Someone with depression might be trying to do more than his ability in any attempt to communicate his ideas.

Less energy. People who are depressed tend to say or feel, I always feel tired or I’m tired. It is thought that the symptoms were caused by emotional factors, rather than biological factors.

The belief that a person has lived a useless, ineffective. that person has no confidence. Thoughts like, I’m wasting my life, or I can not achieve much.

Decreased capacity to be able to think clearly and to solve problems effectively. Common complaint that often happens is, I can not concentrate.

Indirect self-destructive behavior. for example: the abuse of alcohol or drugs, nicotine, and other drugs. Excessive eating, especially if someone has health problems such as being fat, diabetes, hypoglycemia, or diabetes, can also be identified as one type of self-destructive behavior indirectly.

Having suicidal thoughts. (Of course, the actual suicide, is a self-destructive behavior directly.
