Who says we have to wash our hair every day? And who says if we wear foundation, we have to rub it all over our face? Below are 9 “rules” of beauty that actually only applies to some people, and should be avoided by the other.

Wash your hair every day. If your hair is dry, wash your hair every day will make it more dry. Wash your hair every 2 or 3 days when the scalp is back to its natural moisture. But if your hair and your scalp is oily, you do have to wash your hair every day.

Applying foundation all over the face. This only applies if there are many black spots on your face, acne, acne scars or blemishes scattered everywhere. If the face tend to be “clean”, simply apply afoundation in the areas under the eyes are usually blackened, and in areas that are blotchy. The rest, leave it natural.

Cut the nail cuticle. Many people who diligently cut their nail cuticles (skin around the nail). This habit is also sometimes done in the salon while manicure or pedicure. When in fact the cuticle serves to protect the nails from exposure to the growth of bacteria. If we cut the cuticle, we will increase the nail to become infected.

Every six weeks, cut the ends of hair. This rule applies only to branched hair. If your hair is healthy and not branched, this treatment does not need to be done at all.

Routinely do facial peels. If your skin is normal or oily, peeling will damage the skin. Normal skin will actually peel off by itself and get rid of dead skin. But if you have dry skin, exfoliation (peeling) should indeed be done by yourself. Choose a product like soap or face wash cream to soft exfoliate.

Do not wear eye-liner under the eyes. Eye-liner that is used above and below the eye, can actually confirmed the form of the eye and give the effect of thicker lashes. But if your eyes are slanted, you should avoid using eye-liner under the eyes because it can make eyes look smaller.

Bathing twice a day. Bathing in the morning before leaving for work and shower in the afternoon after work was recommended. But if you’re not full of activity and the body not sweating, there’s no need to take a bath. Too frequent bathing makes skin dry, especially when we use antibacterial soap.If your skin is basically dry, too frequent bathing can make the pores become enlarged and bacteria easy entry.

Use shampoo before conditioner. This only applies to those that have dry hair. But if your hair is oily, do the opposite: use the conditioner first, then rinse with shampoo. This serves to clean the remnants stuck to the hair conditioner, which if left unchecked will actually make the hair so limp and greasy.

Recognizing the problems of the skin with age and how to care for her, will make us able to maintain a youthful skin. For that you need to find out your skin type. Here’s an explanation of the types of skin according to skin and cosmetics expert, Dr. Arika M Andini of the House of Ristra :

Normal Skin
Its features: soft and moist skin, visible pores, but not too large, and in the T looks oily. This skin type is often called a combination skin

Dry Skin
Its features: pores barely visible, not flexible, loosely, fat production in the skin a little bit, scaly skin and a bit rough when touched. Aging lines also began to appear.

Oily Skin
Its features: the oil glands in the face of very active (face looks smooth), the face of porous (similar to orange peel), blackheads a lot, perabaaan rough skin and acne often.

Our skin, especially on the face and neck, will change with age. In childhood, the skin will feel supple and resilient because the water content in the skin is 13 percent. As adults age, decreased water production, so the skin moisture content in the 7-13 per cent lived alone. Dwindle in number as we mature into adulthood, and only 7 percent.

With age, the more skin problems, including:

Children (<13 years): normal skin.

Adolescents (13-19 years): oily-acne (in the nose, cheeks, chin, chest, and back).

Young adults (20-30 years old): normal, oily or stained black pimples.

Adult (30-40 years): dry, stained black, aging occurs, the skin started to show the lines of aging, particularly in rural corner of the eyes, nose, around the lips, and forehead.

Beginning elderly (40-50 years): dry-stained black.

Elderly (> 50 years): aging and skin cancer.

Care for long term:

Phase I: Clearing
Soap is used:
* Non-alkaline, in accordance with the physiological pH of skin (pH Balanced).
* Clean the face twice daily bath time (morning and afternoon / evening).

Phase II: moisturize
* Prevent dry skin by using moisturizer and body lotion.
* Extra-dry skin use a body cream or body butter.

Stage III: Protect (from sunlight)
* Physical: Use an umbrella, hat, and clothing covered.
* Chemical: Apply sunscreen as the foundation to foundation.
