There are many kinds of headaches, but headache that I wish to discuss is migraine, because migraine came suddenly without any cause. Migraine headache is caused by vasodilatation (enlargement of blood vessels) that causes release of chemicals from nerve fibers which coil around large arteries of the brain. Enlargement of these blood vessels stretches nerves that coil around them and causes the nerves to release chemicals. The chemicals cause inflammation, pain, and further enlargement of the artery. The increasing enlargement of arteries magnifies the pain.
symptoms:
1. head pain throbbing, sometimes just pain in one part only, but also can hurt all of the head.
2. pain can also spread to the eye. often followed by drowsiness.
Aid measures :
1. When migraine was coming to attack, move to a darker room to rest. lie down for ten minutes.
2. during the next two hours, the patient should not eat and drink.
3. painkillers can be used to reduce pain.
