Research on coffee continues. Benefits or dangers of drinking coffee continue to be the subject of research until now, there are still many undiscovered secrets of the coffee. Sometimes the result raises the pros and cons. For the cons, coffee is considered dangerous. As for the pros, drink coffee instead provide more benefits.
Based on research conducted by experts from Harvard Medical School, revealed the presence of the new benefits of coffee. In the conference of the American Association for Cancer Research in Houston, USA, one of the researchers who examined the benefits of the new coffee to say that men who regularly drink coffee, the risk of prostate cancer was reduced by 60 percent when compared with men who do not drink coffee.
Though the experts said it still too early to recommend the men to start drinking coffee, the study results are quite convincing. “Lifestyle factors have been shown to consistently associated with prostate cancer risk, and therefore a great relief when the results of this study is strengthened by other studies,” said Kathryn M Wilson, Ph. D, from the Charming Laboratory, Harvard Medical School.
In his study, Wilson analyzes the information from the study results Health Professionals Follow-Up Study involving more than 50,000 men a cup of coffee owner from 1986 until 2006. During the study period, 4975 men experience prostate cancer.
Based on the study analysis, known to men who consumed a lot of coffee (more than six cups per day) had a 59 percent lower risk of cancer-stat PRB aggressive or fatal than non coffee drinkers.
However, researchers of this study emphasize that caffeine is beneficial not only for prevention of prostate cancer. The study also found men who drank decaffeinated coffee also had a lower risk.
According to Wilson, coffee contains many important components, such as antioxidants and minerals that may play an important role to prevent prostate cancer. “Coffee has an effect on insulin and glucose metabolism plays an important role in prostate cancer,” he said.
As is known, prostate cancer is a frightening disease for men. Prostate previously of good character can slowly turn into misery because of the carrier glands become easily infected and affected by the disease, including cancer.
Although coffee is believed to reduce prostate cancer risk, but do occasionally drink coffee after drinking alcohol. In a drunken state instead of coffee can make people very difficult to realize.
Scientists in the United States tells us that coffee can not make someone become calm. Research conducted by a team from Temple University in Philadelphia show that caffeinated beverages make a person more alert or awake.
“The myth that coffee can calm the growing is simply not true, because the consumption of caffeine and alcohol will give a bad effect and can cause havoc,” said study leader Thomas Gould, as quoted from Dailymail.
People who feel tired and drunk after consuming alcohol tend to be more able to admit that he was drunk. While the combination of caffeine and alcohol can lead to serious risks for the individual.
Based on the research got caffeine failed to restore the negative effects of alcohol. It’s someone who consume caffeine can make people become more calm, but if consumed when drunk is not peace but rather gained a dangerous risk.
“All the research evidence it leads to serious risks that can be generated from the combination of caffeine and alcohol,” said Dr. Gould. The results of this study have been published in the journal Behauioural Neurosaence.
